152) Fitzgerald’s of Aston Quay, D2

Expensive but handsome pub along the quays. Long wooden bar with marble counter tops over which hang iron chandeliers. There’s a skylight in the bar which gives good light. A false snug at the back gives one a modicum of privacy if needed. You’ll find both Beamish stout and Kilkenny ale on tap. Not regrettable - but forgettable, and wants no urgency of return.

Update as of 2021: Sadly, Beamish no longer bonds here, and there’s a stronger emphasis on food than drink. The proficient and attractive bar woman of Molloy’s has jumped ship and is now pulling pints here in Fitzgerald’s. Fact!
