127) The Merry Cobbler of Irishtown Road, D4

The third angle in the Isosceles of pubs in Irishtown (see above). This bar is home to a most superbly comforting log fire. To the right of the fire stands a giant tower of firewood lying in waiting to be turned to fuel. Once, in deep winter, we sheltered here from a hammering rain and were delighted to see the fireside vacant. We immediately occupied the chairs by the flames, and as our pints were busy settling themselves, hats and coats were left upon the hearth to drip dry to which the staff happily turned a blind eye. This little inglenook makes The Merry Cobbler most deserving of a liquid appointment.
