313) The Clonliffe House (Brady and Gorman) of Ballybough Road, D3

Not a pub we would go back to. Like all the pubs on this stretch, it enjoys a proximity to Croke Park, accounting for much of the 'Up The Dubs' tenor of the decor, with a flag for every county gaudily hanging from the roof to further rub in the sporty vibe. Guinness was sloppily served and tasted as bad as it looked. Children are welcome (almost too welcome, dare a Scrooge say so), making it very family-friendly. Bar staff were slow to serve. Place not clean. Not good.

Update as of 2021: The following is a review of this pub by Alan B. written on Tripadvisor [1]

‘Breeding ground for Covid

Friends

On the day Mayo played Dublin this pub was jam packed. No social distancing, got served at the bar and nobody wore a mask. Had 1 pint and left as it was a breeding ground for Covid. Toilet was filthy, one sink that no one used. Nothing to wash your hands with or to dry them. Only 50 allowed at a wedding and yet in their set up at the rear of the pub there had to be well over 200 punters all drinking in groups. I left after one pint as I thought it was disgraceful disregard for all the work that has need done to combat the disease. Management ought to be ashamed of themselves for their greed and the woeful sanitation of the pub. First and last time in the rough and ready pub, bit of a dump to be honest.
