177) Madigan’s of O’Connell Street Upper, D1

Established in 1922. Given its location on one of Dublin’s busiest thoroughfares [1], it is very popular with tourists. Live traditional music is a staple. It’s a rare pub that serves a pint of Murphy’s stout, and it’s available here for purchase. A long bar leads to a stone archway through which a more private seating area is available. This is one of (too many) Madigan’s dotted about the town.

FOOTNOTES

[1] A ‘pub’ to skip on O’Connell Street is Murray’s Bar & Grill, (a gastroroom for tourists with prices high in the sky). Avoid.
